NovaBridge Biosciences Shares Climb Premarket After FDA Grants Fast Track Designation

By Robb M. Stewart

NovaBridge Biosciences' shares jumped ahead of the opening bell after the cancer therapy being developed by the biotechnology company received the Food and Drug Administration's fast track designation.

In premarket trading, the shares were 9.5% higher at $1.61. The stock had over the last three months fallen almost 50% through Monday's close.

NovaBridge said the FDA granted the designation to givastomig in combination with nivolumab and chemotherapy for the treatment of patients with previously untreated HER2-negative advanced or metastatic gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas whose tumors are both Claudin 18.2 and PD-L1 positive.

Data from a phase 1b trial showed compelling efficacy and tolerability for givastomig in combination with immunochemotherapy, supporting its potential as a premier therapy for gastric cancer, the company said.

Fast track designation is intended to accelerate development and review of therapies for serious conditions with unmet medical need.
