Corcept Resubmits FDA Application for Cushing Syndrome Drug
By Elias Schisgall
Corcept Therapeutics resubmitted a new drug application for relacorilant, a treatment for Cushing's syndrome, to the Food and Drug Administration.
The agency had requested additional evidence of effectiveness for the drug in December following the company's initial application. Corcept said Wednesday that its resubmission contains the additional analyses requested by the FDA.
The company is expecting a six-month review process.
"We are pleased to return relacorilant's NDA to the review process and look forward to working with the agency to advance relacorilant toward approval as a treatment for patients with Cushing's syndrome," Chief Executive Officer Joseph Belanoff said.
Cushing syndrome is a disorder caused by excess cortisol in the blood for along period of time.
