Viridian Therapeutics Says FDA Approves Lumvoa to Treat Thyroid Eye Disease

By Stephen Nakrosis

Viridian Therapeutics said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has approved Lumvoa to treat thyroid eye disease.

The company said it will launch Lumvoa immediately, adding physicians can begin prescribing Lumvoa on Saturday.

Thyroid eye disease, also known as TED, is a condition where the immune system attacks tissue and muscles behind the eyes. Symptoms can include bulging eyes, dry or teary eyes, and double vision, among others, according to the American Thyroid Association website.

Viridian said Lumvoa is the first approved treatment for TED with labeling that includes data for both active and chronic TED.

The company added it will host a conference call and webcast on June 29 at 8 a.m. ET.
