Reliance Industries Logs Lower First-Quarter Net Profit, Higher Revenue

By Mauro Orru

Reliance Industries reported lower net profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, but revenue increased thanks to its oil-to-chemicals business.

The Indian conglomerate said Friday that net profit for the quarter to the end of June slipped to 209.46 billion rupees ($2.17 billion) from 269.94 billion rupees a year earlier, above an estimate of 190.04 billion rupees from a poll of analysts by data provider LSEG.

Revenue for the quarter grew to nearly 3.119 trillion rupees from 2.487 trillion rupees a year earlier. Revenue at its oil-to-chemicals business, which accounted for the lion's share of sales, increased to 2.018 trillion rupees from 1.548 trillion rupees.

Earnings before interest and taxes for its oil-to-chemicals segment rose to 141.70 billion rupees from 125.21 billion rupees.
