AirJoule Shares Rise on Deal to Use Technology in Texas and California
By Katherine Hamilton
AirJoule Technologies shares rose after the company said it signed a deal to use its water technology for residents in California and Texas.
The stock gained 15% to $4.34 in pre-market trading Wednesday. Through Tuesday's close, shares were down 10% this year.
The company, which extracts water from the atmosphere, said it is working with Kubota, a Japanese water infrastructure company to deploy AirJoule's water technology in the two states.
Kubota will evaluate AirJoule's technology as a part of a decentralized water circulation infrastructure that can produce, treat and reuse water within local communities, particularly for residential regions in the U.S. facing water scarcity constraints.
The two companies also signed an exclusive sales agreement, where Kubota will sell and distribute AirJoule systems for multi-unit residential developments in certain parts of Texas and California.
Kubota has purchased two AirJoule Core systems for the first deployments in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Irvine, Calif. Both deployments are slated to start in the third quarter.
The parties may consider further commercial collaboration based on the results of these first deployments, AirJoule said.
