Santander UK to Appoint Tom Ranger as Chief Financial Officer

Santander UK named Tom Ranger as its next chief financial officer, as part of Chief Executive Mahesh Aditya's efforts to align the bank's U.K. operations with its Spanish parent.

Ranger is set to start work in October, replacing Angel Santodomingo, who has held the role since 2023 and is taking on a different role at Banco Santander in January.

The new CFO is one of four appointments to the executive committee of the bank's U.K. arm. Steve Affleck was appointed chief accounting officer, while Michael Christodoulides and Inaki Perkins were named chief compliance officer and head of cards & payments, respectively.

Ranger spent close to 17 years at Santander before taking on the CFO role at regional U.K. lender Yorkshire Building Society in 2024. Affleck was formerly Santander UK's deputy CFO.
