GE Aerospace Says National Airlines Orders Additional CF6, GE90 Engines

By Anvee Bhutani

GE Aerospace said Thursday that cargo carrier National Airlines has agreed to purchase one GE90-110B engine and six CF6-80C2 engines to power its Boeing 777F and 747F freighter aircraft.

The company said National Airlines already operates 30 CF6 engines and eight GE90 engines.

Financial terms of the order weren't disclosed.

GE Aerospace said the GE90 engine family powers all Boeing 777 models and is the exclusive engine for the 777-300ER, 777-200LR and 777 Freighter. The CF6 engine powers nearly 70% of the world's widebody cargo aircraft, the company said.

National Airlines said the additional engines will expand its operational capacity to support growing cargo demand.
