Air Liquide to Invest Over $150 Million to Supply Gases to Memory Chip Maker
By Mauro Orru
Air Liquide said it would invest over $150 million into a new facility in the U.S. that will supply gases to an undisclosed memory chip manufacturer.
The French industrial-gases supplier said it would build, own and operate a new industrial gas production facility in Idaho that will deliver ultra-pure nitrogen, oxygen and argon to the chip maker, with operations slated to kick off in 2028.
Nitrogen, oxygen and argon are essential to make advanced memory chips, which are in high demand as companies race to build artificial-intelligence infrastructure.
