Alvotech Shares Rise After Wrapping FDA Facility Inspection
By Dean Seal
Shares of Alvotech jumped after the company said it has successfully closed a regulator's inspection of its manufacturing facility in Iceland.
The stock was up 14% at $3.53 on Wednesday. Shares are still down about 32% year-to-date.
The biotechnology company said before the opening bell that the Food and Drug Administration has closed its inspection of a facility in Reykjavik that was conducted back in May.
The FDA confirmed the inspection classification of the site was deemed "Voluntary Action Indicated," meaning that it had found some deficiencies but doesn't intend to take formal enforcement action.
Chief Executive Lisa Graver said this is an important milestone for Alvotech and reflects actions taken to strengthen the company's quality systems and manufacturing.
