Mercury Systems Shares Rise on Palantir Deal to Speed Factory Output
By Doc Louallen
Shares of Mercury Systems rose after the company said it partnered with Palantir Technologies to enhance the automation of material planning and factory operations to speed deliveries for U.S. military programs.
Shares were recently up about 9% at $106.05 in late morning trading. The stock is up about 35% over the past three months.
The aerospace and defense electronics company said the agreement will use Palantir's software in two initial workflows to streamline material planning, cut manual work and increase factory capacity without extending delivery timelines or raising costs.
Palantir also will help Mercury build a companywide digital twin of its operations to enable faster decisions and more predictable production, the companies said.
"Partnering with Palantir will enable Mercury to further drive automation and efficiency in our supply chain and manufacturing operations, which are key to accelerating delivery of critical, high-demand capabilities for the warfighter," said Bill Ballhaus, Mercury's chief executive.
