By Najat Kantouar

Siemens said it plans to invest more than $200 million in two new factories in Texas and Georgia as the company seeks to meet growing artificial-intelligence demand.

The German industrial giant said Friday that the investments would enable the company to expand its production capacity to deliver the infrastructure required for artificial intelligence.

Siemens will create more than 1,500 jobs in the U.S.

In July, the company invested 300 million euros ($345.8 million) in its factories in Germany to support demand for AI and data centers, Siemens said.
