China Tower's First-Half Profit Rose Despite Weaker Revenue

China Tower reported a higher first-half profit on Tuesday despite a decline in operating revenue.
Net profit for the six months ended June rose 30% from a year earlier to 7.49 billion yuan, equivalent to US$1.11 billion. Operating revenue declined 1.8% to 48.69 billion yuan over the same period.
The company's board declared an interim dividend of 0.19122 yuan a share.
Its Hong Kong-listed shares were last 1.5% lower at 9.60 Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to US$1.22, before the results.
