EssilorLuxottica Launches Buyback Program Potentially Valued at $918 Million

EssilorLuxottica said it was launching a share buyback that could be valued at up to around $918 million.

The Franco-Italian manufacturer of Oakley and Ray-Ban sunglasses said it would purchase up to 5 million shares.

The stock on Thursday closed at 157.50 euros. Based on that price the buyback total could be around 787.5 million euros ($917.6 million), depending on market conditions.

The company said this reflected its confidence in its value creation and long-term prospects.
