KKR, Realty Income Form Joint Venture to Own Properties in Europe
By Kelly Cloonan
KKR and Realty Income are teaming up to form a joint venture that would own a portfolio of the real-estate investment trust's existing net lease real estate assets in Europe.
Capital accounts advised by KKR plan to initially invest 528 million euros (about $609.7 million) to acquire a 49% equity interest in the joint venture, with Realty Income retaining a 51% ownership interest and continuing to manage the portfolio, the companies said Monday.
The assets include 54 properties in Spain, Ireland, Poland and the Netherlands, spanning a mix of industries and tenants.
The companies expect the deal to close on Sept. 30.
