PBF Energy Shares Fall on $500 Million Notes Offering

By Katherine Hamilton

PBF Energy shares fell after the company said it plans to offer $500 million of exchangeable notes due 2032.

The stock slid 7% to $72.73 on Monday. Shares have still nearly tripled this year.

The petroleum refiner said it plans to offer the notes in a private offering exempt from registration under the Securities Act of 1933.

The notes will be co-issued by PBF Finance, a subsidiary of the company. The issuers expect to grant the initial purchasers an option to buy an additional $50 million aggregate principal amount of notes.

PBF plans to use the proceeds from the offering to fund the repayment of all of its 7.875% senior unsecured notes due 2030.
