Deutsche Lufthansa Orders 20 Boeing 737 MAX 10 Aircraft
By Mauro Orru
Deutsche Lufthansa said it would purchase 20 Boeing 737 MAX 10 aircraft with a list value of roughly $3.4 billion as it seeks to expand its fleet and replace older planes.
The German carrier group said its supervisory board had decided to exercise options for the aircraft as part of an order it made in 2023 for 40 Boeing planes. That order included a total of 60 purchase options for additional planes.
While the planes carry a list value of roughly $3.4 billion, buyers typically receive steep discounts in such orders.
Lufthansa said it expected delivery of the newly ordered aircraft to start in the early 2030s.
