LG Gets New Nvidia Certification for AI-Factory Cooling Solution
By Kwanwoo Jun
LG Electronics has secured a new Nvidia certification for a larger-scale cooling solution designed to manage heat in artificial-intelligence data centers.
Nvidia certified LG's new 2.5-megawatt coolant distribution unit after the solution met the U.S. AI chip maker's requirements under its "DSX Ready CDU" qualification program, the South Korean company said Tuesday.
LG said that it expects the certification to reinforce its position "as a first mover in the next-generation liquid cooling market," and that it will continue to supply reliable solutions for expanding AI infrastructure.
Nvidia previously certified LG's 600-kilowatt and 1-megawatt CDUs for use in AI data centers, the company said.
Shares of LG rose 7.2% in early afternoon trading, outperforming the benchmark Kospi's 1.2% gain.
