SoftBank Unit, Shinko Electric to Partner on AI Memory Technology

A SoftBank Corp. unit and Shinko Electric Industries have agreed to jointly develop and commercialize next-generation memory technology.

The SoftBank unit, Saimemory, said Monday that the technology is designed to offer greater capacity and bandwidth while using less power.

It aims to help data centers process the large amounts of data needed to train and run artificial-intelligence models while reducing power consumption, the company said.
