Netlist Files Another ITC Complaint Against Micron
By Kelly Cloonan
Netlist filed another complaint with the International Trade Commission against Micron Technology and some of its customers, alleging the chipmaker infringed on its high bandwidth memory patents.
Netlist said Tuesday it is seeking exclusion and cease-and-desist orders against Micron and its customers Nvidia, Broadcom and Google. Netlist's complaint alleges several of Micron's high-bandwidth memory products infringe on its patents covering technologies used in advanced artificial-intelligence computing.
Netlist had filed an ITC complaint against Micron and several of its customers--including Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Super Micro Computer and Lenovo Group--last month, alleging patent infringement related to certain DRAM, or dynamic random-access memory, devices.
The ITC said last week it voted to investigate those DRAM products from Micron, as well as the server makers that use those chips in their products.
Earlier this month, Netlist lost its appeal in a patent case against Micron involving computer memory systems.
Micron did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
