Generali to Buy $169 Million Stake in Spain's Cajamar

Assicurazioni Generali said it agreed to buy a minority stake in the holding company of Spanish lender Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar for 150 million euros ($168.6 million).

The Italian insurer said Friday that the investment for a 9.9% stake in Banco de Credito Cooperativo, Cajamar's holding entity, strengthens its partnership with the lender. Generali and Cajamar have been partners for more than two decades, the insurer said.

Generali said the investment will have no material impact on its solvency level. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals, it added.
