Paramount hired Mattel CEO Ynon Kreiz to serve as co-CEO with CEO David Ellison starting Oct. 5, 2026. It also announced that the US District Court in Northern California has officially resolved the lawsuits Paramount settled on Sept. 21, clearing the way to close the Warner Bros. Discovery merger.
Paramount maintains major film and television studios that generate valuable intellectual property and drive licensing opportunities and a pipeline for original streaming content.
Content is too dispersed among too many streaming services, which will make it difficult for a subscale platform like Paramount+ to increase both subscribers and pricing to a level it would need to offset the ongoing declines in linear television.
